Fun Fact: The flag of Afghanistan (Pashto: د افغانستان بیرغ‎; Dari: پرچم افغانستان‎) is currently a disputed topic between the de facto Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the de jure Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The country has had 25 flags since the first flag when the Hotak dynasty was established in 1709. During the 20th century alone, Afghanistan went through 19 national flags, more than any other country during that time period, and most of them had the colors black, red, and green.
